When your birds arrive they will be inspected. I reserve the right to refuse admission to birds if they are showing any signs of infectious disease, injury or are in poor condition. This is not a reflection of how you care for your birds, but to safeguard all birds in my care. In order to protect all birds they will be sprayed, on arrival, with an anti-mite product.
Birds are kept in 'owner groups' in secure houses and runs (Eglu) which are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between visiting groups of birds. Birds will not be let out to free range whilst in my care. Bedding will be changed at least twice a week.
I will provide all food (layers pellets and mixed corn), grit and fresh water (twice daily). You are welcome to leave a supply of your own feed for use, if you prefer.
Should a bird become unwell during its stay, I will endeavour to contact you for instructions, but if I am unable to make contact, I will use my own experience to decide upon what action to take. Whilst in my care, if I feel it necessary to take any bird to the vet for treatment, I will do so, at your expense. I will not see a bird suffer unnecessarily.
A 25% non-refundable deposit will be required from you once I confirm the booking of a pen(s). If the deposit is not paid within seven days of my confirmation, your reservation will lapse and I will allocate the pen(s) to other customers. Full payment of the balance is required when you deliver the birds for boarding.
Birds should be delivered in secure cardboard boxes (with ventilation holes) or pet carriers, clearly marked with your name. You may leave these with me for re-use on collection of your birds.
Birds must be collected on the date agreed as the pen(s) may be booked for the next boarders. If the collection of your birds is delayed for reasons beyond your control, please advise me as soon as is possible. I will try to fit in with your revised schedule, but cannot guarantee that your birds will stay in their current pen(s). In these circumstances, I may need to move your birds to alternative temporary accommodation. I reserve the right to charge a premium fee on late collections of £2.50 per bird per night. If I have not heard from you within seven days of expected collection, I will presume that the birds are not wanted and they will be rehomed.
Any veterinary charges or extra boarding feeds must be paid in full, in cash, prior to the birds leaving.
Booking of birds into boarding is with agreement to the above policy. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
